An Update/Day in the Life of Stan Wolf

“Hail to the chief.”

I chuckle at my son, Magnum, who greets me with a lazy salute when I arrive at my office that Friday morning.

“At ease, lieutenant,” I say.

Magnum grins crookedly and then winks at my secretary, who blushes like a schoolgirl. Even after all these years she’s been working for me, she hasn’t grown immune to my son’s charms. But she’s not alone. Every time Magnum shows up at headquarters, he causes a commotion among the female staff. If he ever agrees to pose in the annual firefighter’s calendar, these women will lose their damn minds.

“Five, four, three, two—”

It’s show time. Time to tape another episode of my cable cooking program Howlin’ Good. I’ve been hosting the show for years and there’s never a dull moment—especially when my cousins and college friends join me on the set. Since Manny, Magnum, Percy, and Jagger forget that Howlin’ Good is supposed to be family-friendly, their guest appearances always require a seven-second tape delay—and even that’s not always enough.

As much as I enjoy clowning around with the fellas, my favorite co-host is my beautiful wife Reese. From the moment we met, I knew she was special. When she auditioned to become my apprentice, having her beside me felt so damn right it scared me. Looking back now, it’s hard to believe we got off to such a rocky start. Reese makes me happier than I ever thought I could be. She and our daughter, Savannah, mean everything to me. They’ve made me a better husband, a better father, a better man.

Yesterday Marcus, Samara, and the kids came over for dinner. Since we live so close to them, we see them practically every day and often get together for double dates and family outings. You haven’t been to an amusement park until you’ve gone with the entire Wolf Pack. We roll deep.

I was going to hold my tongue. But since Ms. Thang had her say—and threw shade in the process—I decided to speak up for myself and set the record straight.

First of all, I haven’t spent the past several years pining after Sterling Wolf. Grant and I have enjoyed a very good life together. We’re both highly esteemed in the medical field (Grant is a renowned neurosurgeon who has been published in every journal imaginable). We’ve traveled around the world, visiting places I’d only dreamed of before meeting Grant. We own vacation homes in Vail and Monaco, and we belong to one of the most exclusive country clubs in Minnesota. This past Valentine’s Day, Grant surprised me with a yacht that he named after me.

As you can see, life has been wonderful. And contrary to popular belief, the grass CAN be greener on the other side.

Hello there, everyone.

In case we haven’t met before, I’m the oldest member of the Wolf Pack…well, if you don’t count my beloved grandmother, whom we affectionately call Mama Wolf. She’s a big-hearted firebrand of a woman who raised me and my younger brother, Stanton, after our parents died. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without Mama Wolf. Though she hates being fussed over, Stan and I owe her our lives—and we tell her so every chance we get.

Fast forward many years, and I’m now a retired homicide detective living in Stone Mountain, Georgia. My decision to retire wasn’t an easy one, but my overprotective sons, Michael and Marcus, didn’t give me much of a choice in the matter. And when those boys set their minds to something, they can be as relentless as pit bulls on steroids. Guess they came by that honestly, eh?

Bonjour, mes amis!

This is Asha Dubois. Over the years I’ve claimed many titles—supermodel, haute couture designer, fashion mogul, and pioneer. I’ve been called a diva, a snob, an ice queen, a cutthroat bitch, and much worse. Frankly I don’t care what others call me—just spell my name right.

And speaking of names, people often ask me about the origin of my last name. I proudly tell them that I’m the descendant of a French-African composer named Jean-Marcel Dubois, the son of a slave who rose to prominence after distinguishing himself in the French Army.

But I’ll leave the history lessons to Mama Wolf….

Of all the roles I’ve played over the years, what I’m most proud of is being a wife, mother, and grandmother. I adore my daughter Samara, her husband Marcus, and the wonderful grandchildren they blessed me with. And what can I say about my husband? Sterling Wolf is the most amazing man I’ve ever known. He can be stubborn, exasperating, and downright uncivilized…and I wouldn’t change a damn thing about him. I love that man like nobody’s business. And, miraculously, he loves me too.
