Hello, my beauties!
I hope you’re having a fabulous summer! Mine has been busy, busy, busy! As summer draws to a close, I look forward to welcoming fall, which has always been my favorite season (although autumn in Texas will never be as pleasurable as autumn in Maryland *sigh*).
Over the past two weekends, Mr. Smith and I dropped off not one but two kids at college! Of course, this wasn’t our first rodeo. Our daughter was already in college, so I ridiculously assumed I could handle saying goodbye to our baby boy. Nope! I bawled like a freaking baby until he took pity on me and promised to FaceTime every week. I’m definitely holding him to that promise!
Now onto writing news…
To those who have been patiently waiting for the conclusion to Whatever You Need, I’m working on final revisions and hope to have the book in your hands very soon! As a reminder, the ebook will be sold exclusively through my website; all formats will be available and international sales are no problem. Whatever You Need is the final installment in the Brand Clan series, so don’t miss out on saying a fond farewell to this lovably rambunctious Chicago family. I’ve been receiving requests for Be With Me, the sequel to Stay With Me from my Ecstasy Island series. As much as I would love to return to the deliciously seductive island of St. Mirabelle, the reality is that I can’t afford to spend time writing books that might not sell well. (Been there, done that.) With two kids in college, I have to focus on projects that will pay the bills and help secure my children’s education. Of course, I also have to feel inspired to write a particular book. No inspiration? No book!
So here’s my proposal. I’m going to make Be With Me available for preorder on Amazon. If you realllly want to read the book, cast your vote by preordering a copy. If I receive a sufficient number of preorders by October 15, I will gladly continue the Ecstasy Island series. If the preorders are lackluster…well, folks, the train’s gotta keep rolling, know what I’m saying? So with that in mind, be on the lookout for the preorder link!
I’m eagerly gearing up for Swirling the Big Easy 2019 in New Orleans from September 11-13. The conference is a fun-filled celebration of interracial romance fiction. I’m really looking forward to meeting readers and networking with my fellow authors. I’ll be discussing the Denver Rebels, reading excerpts and signing copies of the books. I’m also stoked about hosting a reader appreciation cocktail party with the phenomenal Sienna Mynx. We’ve got an exciting evening planned for our special guests. See you in Nawlins!
